But this was just ridiculous. I started watching Beyond and it got more interesting and addicting too watch. We REALLY hope to see more, not only of Beyond, but other good shows to follow. Each episode, all the way up to 8, which is where I left it, gives around 5 minutes of actual sci-fi. Where this show falls flat for me is the pacing. I felt generous in giving it a 4/10 for the acting which for most of the actor's was pretty good, especially considering how bad the show is. Specifically in the last two episodes where you start to see and understand more about "The Realm". It gets worse and worse. What a shame. Wake up Freeform!. What was missing was any reason to give even the slightest crap about anything that was happening, and that is down to the writers and the directors, totally failing to imbue the show with any emotional resonance at all. Just to explain I just binge watched the ENTIRETY of this horrid show. Beyond showed potential but the lack of structure around Holden's powers, the cliché statement's with overly dramatic music, and the weak character and acting of Willa make Beyond a lame drama. I just read some of the reviews and you gave this show below a 7 your an idiot there's tons of twist and turns always wanting more i cant wait till the 2nd season of this show i just finished watching all 10 episodes and couldn't get enough of it. I will follow up after we see the finale. Great story line and keeps you Engaged. Its still a typical small town unwilling teen hero plot, but the story line is absorbing, the acting is good and the characters are interesting enough to drive the story forward. The acting is better than I expected for a FreeForm show and contrary to some of the reviews, it has quite a bit of sci-fi in it. I started watching Beyond with low expectations because the premise sounds pretty typical. The main actor is horrible, the plot becomes slow and the characters act in a really Hollywood tipical situations. Parents need to know that Beyond is a drama about a teen who awakens from a coma with supernatural powers. The show runner seemed to lose the thread of the series, allowing it to take ridiculous turns. However, you must suspend disbelief almost entirely, as the show's plot really doesn't stand up to any sort of analysis. 31 out of 48 found this helpful. Eight hours or so of my life that I will never get back. Refugees from a war-torn country 180 years in the future start showing up in the present to seek asylum in an American town. Yellow Jacket is delightfully creepy and out of place, and even in slight comedic situations his flat affect is unchanged. Its still a typical small town unwilling teen hero plot, but the story line is absorbing, the acting is good and the characters are interesting enough to drive the story forward. This is right up there with the best of them! We see Supernatural in season 12, TWD in Season 7, with no near end in sight, and all series see ratings going up and down. I really enjoy the premise of this series: guy wakes up from 12-year coma and finds he has powers and has had a relationship with one of the most gorgeous girls I've ever seen in a place called the Realm during that time.
