Walk to the shops of Bethesda Row or drive ten minutes to the National Institutes of Health. The Metro station was within walking distance from our hotel. There's some sort of construction work happening on site - it's loud and it smells like chemicals/building materials.

It forms a long, narrow "U", capped by its terminal stations at Shady Grove and Glenmont. The staff always makes a point to speak & assist riders that in turn makes the commute easier.

At the bottom we were quite bemused to find signs informing us all the Bethesda elevators were out of service. I'm not really sure where the Bethesda Metro ends or begins as it blends with the new corporate part of the city, but I honestly enjoy that part of my pedestrian journey and assume that's part of the point, architecturally.

My weekly station for work & everyone from the Managers (R. Hernandez & B. Woodruff) to other employees are simply cool...especially in the midst of massive riders.

The breeze you feel when you walk out of the station towards the elevator in the summer feels amazing. The Bethesda metro in particular seemed spotless... three years ago. It's a popular stop but somehow it is often closed for smoke in the tunnels and/or one of the escalators being broken causing passengers to literally be stuck in the tunnels.
