Carquinez Strait Trail is a 3.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Benicia, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. We had to walk along the rocky shore. got "lost" but easy to find way back.Easy. Not steep, but not entirely flat.This 4.6 mile (each way) paved and gravel/dirt surface ride begins at either Glen Cove Waterfront Park or at Benicia State Recreation Area and is best ridden on a mountain bike or other non-skinny-tired bicycle.Just minutes off Highway 780 you’ll find wind rushing through the tall grasses of this beautiful shoreline segment of Bay Trail and Bay Area Ridge Trail.This pier is located on the Carquinez Strait where people come to try to catch sturgeon and striped bass. This parkland provides a gateway to the river delta region along the northern edge of Contra Costa County. Did the shoreline on a low tide. Not steep, but not entirely flat. If you follow the trail map on the app, after passing the tower there’s a portion of the trail that is overgrown with weeds.

Great hike to wind down , easy overall hike and overlook of carquinez bridgebeautiful hike, but bugs are out mainly by the Benicia trail side.this place is amazing, beautiful view and nice for hiking.Did a mix of the Carquinez Strait Trail and the Benicia Marsh Loop Trail by coming back through the coast. Bicyclists. Each highway bridge consists of two spans. Cute little area to play in the water too.Beautiful views of the bridge. A lot of the trails were very thin. Tall grasses this time of year meant more than a few ticks packed out with us. The trail by down by the water is not a trail. Wear sunscreen and bring water.Fun trail with a slight incline that makes it fun. Older children advised as under 5 will tire easily on the incline and the trail is too narrow for much stroller action. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.Great for hiking or running.
