There’s plenty of social and free time for delegates to relax and get to know one another.ANYTOWN is an incredible opportunity to meet other students from all over Guilford County. Ten or more adult advisors stay in nearby cabins. Delegates create a model for an ideal community based on respect, understanding, and inclusivity, in which members not just tolerate, but celebrate each other’s differences. Founded in 1957, NCCJ ANYTOWN is designed to educate, liberate, and empower youth participants (delegates) to become effective, responsible leaders and community builders.

As the world leader in volunteerism we feel a responsibility to unite our broader community, and to use this moment to become stronger. Each summer, our acclaimed youth leadership program gathers two diverse groups of high school students to spend a week in the mountains of western North Carolina. These delegates are diverse in race, culture, religion, school, and socio-economic background. Students will not call home to let you know that they have arrived safely, but NCCJ will update our phone message and Facebook page to let you know when delegates have arrived. Families are encouraged to write letters to their students.

You are welcome to call NCCJ and check Facebook for regular updates and photos. (But if you prefer your own pillow or want large towels, feel free to bring those.
