Phantom Ranch elevation: 2,460 feet / 750 meters.We were hiking up and out, so we set off from Phantom Ranch about 5:30am, after a 5:00am breakfast. You need to be prepared for lots of elevation change and if you are doing this from May to September, you also need to be prepared to hike in temperatures reaching over 100°F.I also recommend spending some time on a Stairmaster.
